I just received this from our local title rep (Barbara Cheek with First American Title)....Interesting stats regarding our market and percentage of REO sales for the first half of 2008.  [My interpretation of the numbers is....even though REO sales are rampant throughout the San Bernardino County area, it seems like the mountain communities (Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead) have seen a smaller percentage of REO sales for the 1st half of 2008].  I welcome your comments.

Square Dancing Aug 1, 2 at The Big Bear Middle School.  The annual Old Miners' Square Dance weekend invites dancers from Southern California clubs to join in the fun. Canoe Tours at The Discovery Center Aug 1,2,3,9,10,15,17,22,23,24,30,31  Learn how to canoe on a leisurely 2-hour guided tour of beautiful Grout Bay. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for beaver, great blue herons, and ducklings. Along the way you will learn the natural history of the Big Bear Valley along with the various flora and fauna found in the area. Children must be at least 6 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Includes water and a snack. Tour starts at the Discovery Center and then caravans to marina. Fee: Adults $25, Children (6-16) $15
